The multi storeyed building above 15 meters need Electrical Inspector's sanction for energisation before the commencement of power supply from KSEBL or other licensee in Kerala.  As per the  section 54 of Electricity Act 2003, rule 38 of Central Electricity  authority (Measures Relating to Safety and Electrical Supply) Regulations, 2023, Part 3,section 7 of National Electric code 2023 (NEC), National building code (NBC)and Kerala Municipal building Rule (KMBR) it's mandatory.

Only dry type transformer shall be used.

If more than 100 kVA common load is used,a separate transformer shall be installed.

Locking and sealing facility provided for all metering panels, MSB and HT panel.

The allowable height of energy meter in the panel is 0.75 m. to 1.8 m. (Clause 11.3.1  IS 15707:2006).

Generator of adequate capacity shall be installed to feed essential loads.

Floor wise single point isolation shall be provided(single point isolation for two adjacent floors).

Lightning protection shall be given as per IEC 62305-2015 based on risk analysis of LPS(I to IV) Etc.
